Coaching makes all the difference!
Have You Ever Been Coached?
Think back to the most significant people in your life, starting with the people who raised you, memorable teachers, inspirational religious leaders, mentors, men and women who helped you to excel in sports, in learning, in business, in life, or in all of the above. Think of the role that these people had in your life. What did they do for you? How did they treat you? What one factor impressed you the most about them?
There must have been something special about each of these very memorable people in your life. It couldn't have been only the information that they imparted to you. It couldn't have been only the advice that they gave you. It couldn't have been only that they were 'nice' people. What was it then? I think that the reason they made such a deep impression on you and had such a significant role to play in your life was that, without any axe to grind, they believed in you. What do you think you could accomplish now if you had someone like that in your life today?
You can have it now!
Your personal coach is someone who's there just for you — someone with whom you can share your dreams, explore your 'wild' ideas, play 'what if' with your life, and, when you've sorted it all out, someone who'll be there to encourage you as take those scary steps forward. Most importantly, though, your coach is the one person in your life who'll tell you the truth. Your coach shares your vision and believes that you can achieve your goals. S/he believes enough in your strength and values that s/he'll be honest with you.
What's that worth to you?
It's very difficult to figure the 'return on investment' (ROI) for coaching. The skills that a certified coach brings to the table are hard to find: the training, skills and experience to allow you to take the lead; the integrity to hold you accountable for living up to your own expectations; the patience to stick with you and support you even when your doubts and fears take over. Rather than wondering whether or not coaching is worth the expense, you might wonder what it's costing you every day not to have a personal coach on your team.
