Coaching makes all the difference!

Have You Ever Been Coached?

Think back to the most significant people in your life, starting with the people who raised you, memorable teachers, inspirational religious leaders, mentors, men and women who helped you to excel in sports, in learning, in business, in life, or in all of the above. Think of the role that these people had in your life. What did they do for you? How did they treat you? What one factor impressed you the most about them?

There must have been something special about each of these very memorable people in your life. It couldn't have been only the information that they imparted to you. It couldn't have been only the advice that they gave you. It couldn't have been only that they were 'nice' people. What was it then? I think that the reason they made such a deep impression on you and had such a significant role to play in your life was that, without any axe to grind, they believed in you. What do you think you could accomplish now if you had someone like that in your life today?

You can have it now!

Your personal coach is someone who's there just for you — someone with whom you can share your dreams, explore your 'wild' ideas, play 'what if' with your life, and, when you've sorted it all out, someone who'll be there to encourage you as take those scary steps forward. Most importantly, though, your coach is the one person in your life who'll tell you the truth. Your coach shares your vision and believes that you can achieve your goals. S/he believes enough in your strength and values that s/he'll be honest with you.

What's that worth to you?

It's very difficult to figure the 'return on investment' (ROI) for coaching. The skills that a certified coach brings to the table are hard to find: the training, skills and experience to allow you to take the lead; the integrity to hold you accountable for living up to your own expectations; the patience to stick with you and support you even when your doubts and fears take over. Rather than wondering whether or not coaching is worth the expense, you might wonder what it's costing you every day not to have a personal coach on your team.

How can coaching help me?

There are different kinds of personal coaching.

Each coaching concentration focuses on one of your particular needs. Here are some areas that ProActivation® Coaching focuses on:

  • Entrepreneurial Coaching: helping entrepreneurs (and professionals) to manage the demands of their overly-busy lives
  • Leadership Coaching: helping new and experienced executives and managers to adapt more readily to the ever-more-challenging demands of their careers
  • Coaching for Balance: helping people to achieve their goals without losing their minds
  • Coaching for Emotional Intelligence: assisting people to grow using emotional intelligence (EQ) in their interpersonal relationships
  • Coaching for Spiritual Intelligence: helping individuals to discern the direction that their lives will take, in creating a life vision, and in discerning and aligning with their values

These areas or 'concentrations' are only some of the directions that coaching can take you. Remember: you are in control of the direction your coaching will take. It all depends on where you are and where you want to go in the ever-shifting context of your personal and social life.

What is ProActivation® Coaching like?

Even the logistics of the coaching relationship depends on your needs. Most people find that one hour sessions once a week seems to provide the best results. Again, other people start out with these weekly sessions and, after a while, find that they may need more or less time or need to meet more or less frequently. The timing of the coaching sessions can be worked out between the your needs and our schedules.

Most personal coaching is done one-on-one by telephone. This provides maximum flexibility and personal service. Some clients may prefer face-to-face meetings; we can accommodate this if you live near or regularly visit Rehoboth Beach, DE. Other people may find that using online video is the best way for them to communicate. Your coach will do his or her best to work with you.

ProActivation® Coaching
offers its coaching program in 13-week 'blocks'. You and your coach both commit to working through one 13-week block of sessions (90 days or 3 months). After that, you get the chance to review your work with your coach and decide whether or not to continue. We will ask you to end each coaching block with an evaluation of your coaching experience. We appreciate both testimonials and suggestions for improvement.

In the ProActivation® Coaching model, your first 13-week 'block' of coaching is dedicated to helping both you and your coach get to know you better. S/he will offer you three assessments that will assist you in pinpointing your best qualities:

  • The Strengthsfinder assessment will help you discover the five areas that you are 'hardwired' to succeed in. Leveraging your strengths gives you much more 'bang for your buck' than focusing on overcoming your weaknesses.
  • The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI) is a tried and true approach to helping you to understand and appreciate your personality 'style'.

  • The Index for Emotional Intelligence (IEI) provides you with a unique opportunity to appreciate how you function emotionally in relationship to others. It not only measures your own self-image, but it gives you a chance to see how closely it correlates with how others see you.

In addition, your coach will be suggesting a number of small exercises to you that will help both of you to understand better where you're coming from, where you are, and where you want to go. The number and type of exercises are completely dependent on your needs and the kind of coaching that you want to pursue. Here are some of the exercises that we provide:

  • Core Values Inventory
  • Personal Destiny Discovery
  • Needs Assessment
  • Wants Inventory
  • Resources Budget
  • Intuition Board
  • Intention Board & Statement
  • Finding Your Hedgehog
  • My Ideal Schedule
  • Finding Your Focus

In your coaching, you may be using some, all, or none of these exercises, depending on your personal needs and coaching goals. This is not a one-size-fits-all program!

Are There Any Limits?

Can you fix my problems?

Regrettably, no. Think of a golf pro or tennis coach. They can help you to improve your swing, but they can't help you to fix a torn ligament. The coach's job is to help you to leverage your strengths and to maximize your potential. When there are problems to be addressed, an expert coach will know when to refer you to someone who is skilled (and licensed) in other fields (like medical, legal, financial, or psychological). Coaching should never be confused with therapy.

Will you advise me on the decisions I should make?

Again, this is not a part of coaching. The 'magic' of coaching involves encouraging you to discover your own unique way, and then holding you accountable for the decisions that you make. The coach's job is to support you in your decision-making process all the way through to completion, so long as your decisions are legally and ethically sound (no professional coach will consent to continue coaching in a way that violates his or her own ethical standards). Coaching should not be confused either with mentoring, or with training or instruction.

How do I get started?

What does coaching cost?

ProActivation® Coaching wants the benefits of coaching to become as widely available as possible, therefore, we try to keep our prices moderate. Keep in mind, that the cost of coaching should be balanced against what you're currently paying for not getting what you want! We charge $350.00 per month for each 13-week block, or $1050 for three months of coaching. The assessments that are included in your initial coaching block cost an additional $150, so the total cost of your initial coaching block is $1200, or three installments of $400 each.

Can I try it out?

Certainly! I offer a one-hour no-cost coaching session so that you can experience what coaching is like for yourself and also to help you determine whether a coaching relationship will 'work' for you. Just enter your name and your e-mail address below and click on the 'Submit' button. You'll receive easy instructions on how to claim your complementary coaching session.

What if coaching doesn't work for me?

We do our best to minimize any risk. Effective coaching depends on mutual trust and clarity about the goals and methods of coaching. Still, not all personalities work well together (that's one of the reasons we recommend the Myers-Briggs Type Inventory® for all coaching clients). If you're not completely satisfied with your coaching experience, you may cancel at any time, and pay only for the services that you have actually used*. Refunds will be promptly credited back to you. So, what are you waiting for? Sign up now!

*Refunds will be provided for unused coaching hours if processed within thirty days of receipt of the current monthly payment. The cost of assessments will be refunded only if none of the three assessments were given.

Testimonials

  • Ric Kirby, Shocking Orange Productions

I should preface this by saying that I was a skeptic as to the value of or even the profession of “life coaching”. Having said that, a little over two years ago I found myself at a personal and professional point of stagnation that had crippled my productivity. Coinciding with my befuddlement was an introduction to you and ProActivation.

I engaged your services in a hope to rekindle a little spark in my professional life. What I got instead was an explosion - an entire new vision of my skills and talents, a paradigm shift which led me to reach far beyond any previous stale expectations of “what might have been” to a reality filled with exciting opportunity and a rewarding sense of personal potential. In working with you, I identified, qualified and became an articulate spokesperson for my personal and professional strengths and goals. With this newfound skill, I was able to leap ahead professionally and challenge myself successfully with a series of accomplishments that had eluded me for decades.

In the past year, I have won work and excelled at opportunities that have identified me as a leader in my field and in turn opened doors in other arenas that might never have occurred to me. Suffice to say, I am now a believer in the power and importance of personal life coaching. I believe the hardest challenge for a skeptic or non-believer like myself is the decision to invest in oneself. Gaining a stronger sense of self worth is another aspect of growth that flourished under your guidance. Suffice to say, I strongly endorse investing and committing to a program with ProActivation. As your tagline suggests—thanks to you, I have definitely unleashed the power within!

  • Mary Davis, (Retired)

When we entered into our coaching relationship, I came seeking direction. I had a goal sense, but doubted its validity. Although self-examination is uncomfortable, with the strength-finders, life- motivating ideals exercise and Meyers-Briggs, we were able to get me out in the open. The result is a black and white picture of who I am and what matters to me.

Your expertise, encouragement, sense of humor and enthusiasm for my success challenged me to take responsibility for my future--to honor my passion. I believe that sooner or later I may have reached this point on my own, but your coaching got me here faster and with an assurance I would not have had without you. You made my path clear. Soooo, Friday I go to Jersey to order my Airstream!

It's no coincidence that things happened the way they did. I'm grateful for that, for the experience of working together and the opportunity to get to know you. Thank you.
